Tape Casters
in Ceramic Forming Systems
Description
The tape casting plant, serves for continuous production of ceramic tapes according to the “Doctor-Blade-principle“. Ceramic casting bodies both based on aqueous solvent and organic solvent can be used.
The slip is cast onto a precisely machined stone plate, on which the carrier tape is moved smoothly and without perturbations. By the electrically adjustable doctor blade the slurry is spread homogeneously and the thickness is exactly controlled by the laser measuring device. Subsequently the wet ceramic tape is passing a 3-zone drying channel with individual adjustment of air flow and temperature. After the exit of the drying channel the ceramic tape is forwarded to the following working steps, whilst the carrier tape is automatically re-winded. All relevant process parameters are adjusted and regulated by an up-to-date central control unit. The concept of the tape caster is made as per the specific requirements of the user.
